Over the past 9 years, Watermelon Red has come to work exclusively with Coolum Tile & Stone Studio (CTSS) to provide a comprehensive consultancy and supply service to our interior clients. In the fledgling days of our business we did work with several of the big brand tile supply companies alongside utilising the convenience of the boutique offering of CTSS but we found the breadth of product offered, customer service and pricing structure provided by Chris and Rodney to be far superior to any of their competitors.

Regardless of project size, they provide innovative and current trend solutions to assist our clients in sourcing their finishes. The CTSS showroom is a breath of fresh air with a plethora of unique and trend based tiles along with classic timeless inclusions. How Chris keeps track of all the options is beyond comprehension! Being a owner managed business ensures that with each brief, tailored solutions offering trend advice and technical considerations relating to the individual needs of the client are provided. Obvious sounding but a skill often overlooked by the big nationals. The process of finalising so many decisions when building and renovating can often overwhelm our clients but Chris and Rodney’s warm and welcoming ways instantly put you at ease and allow clients focus on the selection process.

Having recently expanded their selections to include bathroom fixtures and fittings at an affordable price, we have found the quality of the range and affordability a strong drawcard for our clients who are sometimes restricted by budget but are not willing to compromise on quality and aesthetics.

What I liked most about Coolum Tile & Stone Studio is that Christine knows her stock inside out! When I first visited Coolum Tiles, I was a little overcome with the amount of choice available to me. I dreaded the thought of having to troll through all the tiles looking for something to suit the 60’s beach house style I was trying to achieve.

After a conversation with Christine one rainy Saturday morning, I was amazed at how she could pull out the perfect combination of tiles to suit my theme. I just relaxed and was presented with a smorgasbord of complementary shapes, textures and colours from which I chose a Turkish Matt black hexagonal floor tile to go with full height white subway tiles on the walls.

On a subsequent visit Christine showed me a selection of tiles which would match my predominantly pale blue Caesar stone kitchen bench tops with patterned stainless steel splash back. From these I chose a fabulous mosaic which contained all the colours from the Caesar stone as well as little stainless squares scattered throughout. Just what I needed to add a bit of 60’s bling to my kitchen.

Would I recommend Coolum Tiles? Most definitely! A great family business with a couple who offer great service and a huge selection of tiles but blinds and carpet too! For me it was almost a one-stop shop. I was able to find the perfect carpet and blinds for my nautical themed bedroom.
